The Baggs Hat

I have been knitting a bibbed hat for little and big hearts since 2005. It's a fun, funky and charismatic hat. One of my old pals was the first person to request a bibbed hat. This was long before I had thought about a pattern or design. I thought..."Mike, I don't how to make them!"
It wasn't long after that request that I got to work and designed a Knix bibbed hat.
Well my dear pal Mike left us that fall for a more peaceful place I hope. Mike was killed in a car crash while returning home from a surf trip with a bunch of friends. He didn't get his Knix bibbed hat. He was the inspiration behind my increasingly popular design and I've decided to call it The Baggs Hat. It is as charasmatic as he was, funky and beautiful. I love him and miss him as do so many others. I took this photo of Mike in my garden as we were getting ready to have a fire and a lovely evening.
So many grateful times my friend.
Peace

CosMic SpIndLe on Etsy

I have been having lots of fun with my Etsy shop and it has been open for just over a year. This past summer my friend and kindred spirit, Christa Didham was home from British Columbia and we had the opportunity to hang out, make some music, do some spinning, knitting and networking about our connection with fiber arts. Like myself, she lives in a rural area and reaching out to a global market through Etsy is a very helpful tool. I encouraged her to set up her own shop. Well Christa has taken the plunge and The Cosmic Spindle is now open!Christa's hand dyed, hand spun wool, hand knit hats and hooked rugs are one of a kind, funky and made with so much love.
Check out her shop and tell your friends. Most importantly, SUPPORT HANDMADE!
Best of luck Christa and congrates on your shop.
